Beautiful fall day at the October 9th Stearns Scout Camp. Scouts completed activities both as a Pack and in their respective dens, hiking, tent set up, makeshift fishing pole instruction, whiffle ball and lots of free time to built forts. The top highlight was the annual chili cook off, with seven entries this year and all of them delicious!
Please join us in congratulating Eric Flam on completing the Wood Badge Course.
The purpose of Wood Badge is to develop skilled leaders who can strengthen Scouting units in achieving the mission of the Boy Scouts of America.
When we accomplish the mission of Scouting, we do it in the units. Therefore, the short form of the purpose is, the purpose of Wood Badge is to strengthen units.
Although the course is different today, what Baden-Powell said in 1919 still applies:
One of the purposes of Wood Badge training is to get Scouters to think about the practice of Scouting, to meet together, to exchange experiences, and to live together in the spirit of the Scout Oath.
All 11 of the soon to be Webelos II Scouts were able to attend Scout Camp at Navajo over Father's Day weekend. Highlights from camp included Archery, BB Guns, Knot Tying, Campfires, Swimming, Canoeing, Collecting Frogs, and hiking. These Scouts had a wonderful time and were able to continue growing strong bonds through Scouting at this fun camp.
The final pack meeting of the year was a hit! Literally.... with pies to faces! Top fundraisers with popcorn and wreath sales were able to earn pies and finally got to pie their leaders and each other! It was a blast!
Our Scouts celebrated with burgers and dogs, raced their regatta boats down the creek, and received their final awards. It was a great ending to a very successful Scouting year despite the challenges we faced during the pandemic.
Some Scouts elected to particpate in additional activities to earn a Nova Award led by Eric Flam. This group studied space and built and launched Rockets. This was such a fun activity for all!
The Den 2 Webelos got together for a nature hike & learned techniques to make a campfire. They roasted hot dogs and marshmallows on the open fire and made S'mores. They also baked pizzas using the box ovens that were created at a previous Den Meeting - it was a great day!
The Blue & Gold Banquet looked a bit different this year but we still found a great way to celebrate our Scouts and their accomplishments thus far and to Congratulate our Arrow of Light Webelos as they crossed over into Boy Scouts with a chicken dinner from the Liberty Restaurant!
Hopefully everyone who picked up meals were able to eat together as a family and to reflect on your Scouting experience so far this year:
What have you learned?
What was your favorite activity or event?
How have you grown as a person throughout your Scouting experience?
What are you looking forward to doing in the future with Scouting?
How can you continue to incorporate the Scout Oath & Law into your life?
We are very proud of all of the Scouts for their continued efforts and achievements in Scouting!
Despite the extreme cold, a handful of our Scouts participated in the Polar Cubs event on February 7th. Check out these fun pictures!
1/16/2021 - Pack 767 hosted it's first (and hopefully only) virtual Pinewood Derby. The turnout was amazing with 39 of 42 Scouts turning in cars! Participants were able to live stream the event from the comfort of home and it was a great success! Many prizes, advancement awards, trophies, and medals were handed out during the event. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event great!

9/27/2020 - The first Pack Activity kicked off at Beebe Lake Park Reserve with a Chili Cook-Off. Each den appointed a Scout to make a chili to represent their den in an epic annual battle for the title of Pack 767 Cub Scout Chili Champion 2020! This year Den 1 was the big winner thanks to a special recipe submitted by Crosby Etnier.
In addition to the Chili Cook-Off, Scouts had the opportunity to work on many outdoor adventures including hiking the trails where they participated in some extra community service work by cleaning up the paths as they went along.
Scouts enjoyed a campfire program, some tree climbing, games, songs, skits, and then finished it all off with s'mores. It was a great day!
Welcome back to Scouts for the 2020/2021 school year! Last year we ended early but with schools being in session this year, we have a full calendar year planned. With so many great activities to participate in, you and your scout(s) are sure to have some fun!
Registration has begun and this year it is all online. Go to www.adventureiscalling.org and search for our unit number - 3767. Our Scouts program has so much to offer and this is a great way for your scouts to be involved and learn in their community. We look forward to your Scout(s) joining us this year! Please see the comprehensive Parent Packet in the Parent Resources/New Parents and returning Scouts page.
Our first Pack Meeting will be Tuesday, September 15th at 6:30 pm. We will be meeting at Middle School East - 4862 Naber Ave NE, St Michael, MN 55376. The first den meeting will be held the week after on Tuesday, September 22nd. You will receive more information from your den leaders at the pack meeting. Our annual Chili Cook Off is quickly approaching on Sunday, September 27th at Beebe Lake Regional Park, so grab those chili recipes and may the best chili win!
As always, your health and safety are our priority, we will be following guidelines for our area based on local and state health departments. Since we will be meeting in person, we do require masks to be worn when indoors and if you or your child are not feeling well, please stay home. If your child has a medical reason and cannot wear a mask, please contact your den leader before the first meeting. In the event that the schools shut down, even temporarily, we will send out another email regarding any changes to your scout's calendar. Please know that the Boy Scouts of America continues to evaluate the current conditions. If you would like to see their response to Covid-19, you can visit their website at https://www.scouting.org/coronavirus/.
What an amazing night to choose for tubing! The weather was perfect, nice and comfortable, and the sun had been shining down on the hills all day making them extra fast. Lots of smiles all around for this one!
Several Scouts camped out indoors at base camp and enjoyed rock climbing, archery, gaga ball, pizza, and a movie. This overnight event is definitely a great time!
