What are the benefits for my Scout?
Selling builds confidence and develops interpersonal skills.
Teaches goal setting and the feeling of achievement upon reaching those goals.
The sale allows Scouts to earn funds to cover Scout expenses throughout the year (summer camp, pack bowling, and other events).
What are Scout Bucks?
Each Scout has a Scout Bucks account set up for them. Portions of wreath sales and popcorn sales are placed in the Scout Bucks account and can be utilized to cover events and fees.
General Items
Remember – when out selling, Scouts should wear their Class A uniforms.
All checks should be made payable to Pack 767.
Your Pack leaders want your sale to be successful! If you have any questions at all – please reach out to our Popcorn Chris Van Keulen at 612-300-8178.
Popcorn Sales Information
There are no formal goals for popcorn sales, but we encourage you to work with your scout to set a reasonable goal. Popcorn sale officially starts on Friday, September 22nd at 5:00 p.m. Please respect the start date and time.
Store Front Sales
This year the Pack is setting up tables at four locations- Big Bore BBQ and River Inn in Hanover plus Cash Wise and Cub Foods in Saint Michael.
Scouts can sign up to work shifts with an adult (usually 2 hours) at these store fronts (only two scouts per shift).
We will have online sign up available starting after the September Pack meeting through the Trail’s End App.
Scouts allocated sales based on total sales for all store fronts throughout the sale divided by the total of all hours worked by all scouts throughout the sale. In prior years, we have averaged around $20 per hour worked to scout bucks.
The Pack will accept credit cards at store fronts through the app. The instructions for how to get the app on your phone are below.
Door to Door Sales/Wagon Sales
Sell door to door throughout the sale period.
We will attempt to fill all orders for delivery at the end of the sale on Nov 1st. If we need to order additional product to fill orders, the new products will arrive in mid-November. More details to come later in the sale.
Scouts earn direct sales credit for all door to door sales.
In the app, it is imperative that you mark all sales as “undelivered” because you haven’t given it to them yet! You can change the default setting to undelivered by going to app settings after hitting the three lines symbol in the upper left of the dashboard.
Online Sales and Credit Card- Scouts earn 1.5 points for $1 sold for these transactions! Online Pricing can vary from our local council price. New this year is free shipping of online orders of $55 or more.
Scouts earn 27.5% of all popcorn sales for their scout bucks account for all popcorn sold. ($100 of sales = $27.50 for your scout!)
End of Popcorn Sale
Option 1 – bring all popcorn orders and money to the October Pack meeting – October 24th. If you have received cash, please deposit into your own account and write a check to the Pack for the total cash collected.
Option 2 – official end to the popcorn sale is Sunday, October 29th. If you would like to sell after the October Pack meeting please notify Chris Van Keulen. Order sheets and all money collected will need to be turned in promptly at the end of the sale.
Trail’s End App
All sales must be registered with the app for you to earn prizes.
In order to download the app, you can either go to the app store and download Trail’s End app. Or, you can simply text APP to 62771 and it will send you the link to download.
Once you have the app downloaded, you will need to specify our pack. Our council is Northern Star, we are District J, and our pack number is 3767.
Once you are in the App, you will see your “Dashboard” This is the area where you can specify whether you are selling in Storefronts, online, or Door to door/Wagon sales. Make sure you keep these sales separate, as in you are starting the sale from the correct page.
At the bottom of the dashboard, you have your three choices of selling. If you want to sign up for a storefront, select storefront and choose the date you want to sign up for.
Once you are in the mode of selling (such as storefront, for example) you have a choice to accept payment of cash or credit. If you don’t have a reader, there is a manual credit option at the bottom.
If you wanted to sell to someone, you can share a link of the sale to that person so they don’t have to enter the information on your phone. From that shared link, they will enter the payment info on their phone and finish the order.
If you have any questions please contact the Pack Popcorn Coordinator, Chris Van Keulen, at 612-300-8178 (mobile) or cvankeulen@hotmal.com
